ENDURING THE STORM
“When the storm is over, there’s nothing left of the wicked; good people, firm on their rock foundation, aren’t even fazed.”
Proverbs 10:25 MSG
I knew when I walked out the door it wasn’t going to be easy but ooooh weeeee! My God! I couldn’t imagine getting through all I’ve been through without my faith in God. If the “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me” scripture (Philippians 4:13) was a person, that would be me.
Just like in any natural storms, you can see it coming. If it’s cloudy or dark clouds are hovering, you know rain is coming. When you know it’s going to rain, you put on rainboots and carry an umbrella. I slick my hair in a ponytail and throw a hat on. Well, I’ve had my hat on for the last couple of days because it’s been a little cloudy in my life lately.
I know my storms come as an attempt to shake me and get me to quit. Quitting is not an option. However, I can shift my posture to endure the storm. So, I’m praying even harder. I’m asking God to show me how to find rest in the midst of my storm; for strength to stand on His promises and for faith to believe for miracles. I’m covering my children’s mind, body and spirits in prayer. I’m confessing NO WEAPON formed against me will prosper, so every plot and scheme attempted WILL malfunction. I’m confessing that I have favor with God and with man. So, rules, regulations, policies and procedures change just for me. I’m confessing that I bless my natural enemies and I overcome evil with good, so I’m praying fervently for those that curse and despitefully use me.
They whispered to her, “You can’t withstand the storm”. She whispered back, “I AM THE STORM”. - Unknown
Because His spirit lives within me, I can walk in peace. Plus, I’m not alone.
And what appears after the storm?
A beautiful rainbow.
