POWER IN YOUR PRAYERS

Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.

Luke 10:19 NLT

Well, hello again. I know it’s been a while since we last met here. A lot has transpired and I will make sure I get to share it all but today I feel compelled to share a moment I had on my walk recently. So here goes…..

It’s something about being outside and walking that makes me feel closer to God at times. So, when my heart is heavy or my mind is cloudy and even sometimes when I’m overwhelmed with excitement, I’ll throw my sneakers on and get to walking. Not only is the trail peaceful but walking tends to settle my spirit and silence the noise. On this particular day, I was led to pray for a close friend. Not too long into my prayer, the call dropped. Immediately, I knew I was disturbing weapons that were trying to form. She called back and I jumped back in where I left off with Exodus 14:14, “The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

Now, I tend to look down when I’m walking to ensure that I am planting my feet on level ground when the surface changes. You know sidewalk/grass/gravel. Before I took another step, I looked up and there was the BIGGEST BLACK SNAKE I have ever seen up close. I couldn’t take another step forward, but I also refused to go backwards (THAT’S A WORD!) so I prayed even harder where I stood. Because how dare that snake interrupt my peace, my flow and most importantly, my conversation with the Father. I laughed out loud when I realized what had just happened. Can I share with you the revelation I got dropped on me?

Are you ready?

Are you sure?

Ok, Awesome! Listen, majority of the time you will have snakes around you or weapons forming and you won’t see them coming. Sometimes you’re blindsided by circumstances beyond your control but in this instance the Lord didn’t let me take another step and He allowed me to see that snake ahead on my path!!

Praise Break. Thank you Lord, that the weapon formed, but it did not prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Thank you for guiding me along the best path for my life (Psalms 32:8). Thank you for rescuing me from every trap and protecting me (Psalms 91:3). Thank for the pure joy I find in Your wisdom (Proverbs 3:13-14) And thank YOU for reminding me who I am and the authority You already gave me (Luke 10:19).

I could go on and on, but I’ll stop there to bring this on home. For a moment, I forgot I had my friend on the call because it became personal. I sealed that prayer with an Amen and watched that snake slither on its way.

“So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. “

James 4:7

Now, had I caught the revelation while I was praying, I would have declared some additional needs be met. LOL. Any who, I won’t forget it going forward. I am referencing a literal snake, but it could be anything. Pray for a greater discernment of the rooms you enter, the company you keep, of the decisions you’re making and for protection against anything/anyone not sent by God. And when you pray, have faith and believe that it is already done (Mark11:24) in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Then he touched their eyes and said, because of your faith, it will happen.”

Matthew 9:29
