PROMISES
And I establish My covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Genesis 9:11-13
Rainbows represent the ending of a storm because they usually appear after one has passed. This morning I was reminded that it also was meant to signify one of God’s promises which caused me to consider all the promises I’m currently standing on in addition to the ones He’s already fulfilled.
It was never promised that the journey would be easy, but God did promise that he’d always be with me (Matthew 28:20) and He has been. He said He’d fight for me if I just hold my peace (Exodus 14:14). I’ve done just that and every battle He’s won for me. He said He’d heal the broken hearted and bind up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Now, I know I still have some healing to do but I’ve come a mighty long way. He promised that I could cast my cares on Him and He’d sustain me, and He’d never let me be shaken (Psalm 55:22). I’ve had moments where my knees may have buckled a little, but I never fell. In fact, I believe my endurance have been strengthened along with my faith because I’m not easily moved like I was when my journey began. He promised that I could lay down, sleep in peace and dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8). And I do!
God keeps His promises. I’m experiencing His goodness spoken in His word and I’m eager to know Him and His promises even the more. He’s faithful, mighty and able to do above all that I could ask or think. He’s so real to me and I trust Him with EVERYTHING in me. I’m standing and will continue to stand on ALL the promises of God! I look forward to a few more promises being fulfilled. They are big but God is bigger!
I will show them my wonders.
Micah 7:15
I’ve seen Him do it and He will do it again!
I will give thanks and praise to the Lord, with all my heart, I will tell aloud all Your wonders and marvelous deeds.
Psalms 9:1
