DELAYED, NOT DENIED

“God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭30‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When things don’t go the way we planned, the initial reaction is most likely an emotional one stemming from disappointment. However, I want to encourage you to seek a new initial perspective which I’m also encouraging myself to do as well.

Perhaps, there’s a reason things didn’t go as planned. What if your car wouldn’t start because there was an accident up ahead that you would have been involved in had you left when you tried. Maybe, if you just waited one more day to prepare, you’d have more confidence in your presentation for a greater outcome. What if the offer you put in for the home you thought you wanted wasn’t accepted because there was an even better home more than you imagined at a better price? And what if that denial letter from a job you applied for left you available to receive an offer for a better position with more benefits, more compensation than you asked for and even stock options in the company?

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Listen, I can’t see the future and don’t always understand why things happen the way they do, but I trust God does. I trust that whatever He’s doing, it’s working for my good because I love Him [Romans 8:28]. I believe every promise to be fulfilled in my life in whatever way He chooses to do it and no matter who He has to use. His ways are always better, and His timing is always perfect.

“But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭59‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬
